128 ESCAPE SEQUENCES
by
Ian Adam
COMMODORE POWER/PLAY MAGAZINE
August/September, 1986
**************************************
NOTE: Because this program is written
for the Commodore 128, it cannot be
run like other programs on LOADSTAR.
To run this program, press your 128's
RESET button. This will display a
menu of all C-128 programs on this
issue. Choose the program you want to
run from this menu.
**************************************
The Commodore 128's ESCAPE key is
used with other keys to generate
escape sequences for screen editing
chores like setting up windows,
clearing portions of the screen, or
moving the cursor.
These effects can be accessed from
the keyboard or by a program. Ian
Adam's program demonstrates how a
program can use escape sequences to
clear the screen in different ways.
Each effect is accomplished by a
single small routine (typically three
lines long) that you could include in
your own programs.
To learn more about 128 escape
sequences, consult the Commodore
magazine article cited above.
